The repainted/refurbished Inworth sign is now in place!
A Public meeting was held 3/8/2017 to discuss the Colchester Borough Council draft local plan. The deadline to make comments was 11/8/2017.
The plot of land at the entrance to the allotments has been transformed by a working party and the plants kindly donated by Perrywood garden centre and Nurseries. 8 of the 12 plots are now taken- if you are interested in an allotment please contact the Clerk.
A new recycled plastic picnic bench has been installed at Messing village hall playground.
Inworth residents - the village sign has been removed for repair and repaint- It has not been stolen!
After a long period of negotiation, and months of waiting the Parish Council are pleased to announce that Essex County Council have formally transferred ownership of the plot of land to the rear of the 'Red House' - our new Community Orchard.

The new multi- play unit was installed by Wicksteed Playgrounds last week, and was enjoyed by many children during Messing market on Satuday 13th May- see the latest newsletter for a picture and more information.
The Annual Parish Meeting will be held at 8pm on Tuesday 9th May 2017, directly after the Full Council meeting at 7.30pm.

The new climbing frame/slide set has been ordered from Wicksteeds, who hope to install it in early May.

Great British Spring Clean 2017
Took place in Messing on a very nice Saturday morning, 25 people, 5 children and 2 dogs picked up 25 bags of litter- well done all!
The weather is improving, our allotment holders are hard at work, but we still have plots available.

The new noticeboard has now been received, and will be installed by the Parish Council shortly when they work on the plot of land at the site entrance. With thanks to Colchester Borough Council Via Borough Counicllor Kevin Bentley's locality budget for £600 towards the cost.

The Parish Council have been awarded £5,000 from Essex County Council Community Initiatives Fund towards the new climbing frame/ slideset for Messing Village hall playgound, we are now looking to raise another £5,000.
The Parish Council have achieved Local Council Award Scheme -Foundation level.
Priti Patel MP formally opened the affordable houses in School Road, Messing on 11th November, organised by Hastoe Homes.
The Allotment land at School Road Messing has been transferred to Parish Council ownership.

Messing village hall playground has reopened , with new swings.
Messing market on 9th July raised £385 for 'green' projects.
The Parish Council are expecting the allotment land to be formally handed over and will invite all residents interested in allotments to visit the site.
Judges for the RCCE best village competition were shown around the village, and the various projects by members of the Parish Council
Two new Parish Councillors for the Inworth ward were co-opted at the Parish Council meeting held on 19th April 2016
The Parish Council were shortlisted in Colchester Borough Council ' Big Choice' competition.
Unfortunately we were unsuccesfull, but we are still proceeding with the Community Orchard project.

The 'Heart of Messing' Defibrillator was officially openend and 14 residents attended CPR training provided by the East of England Ambulance Service.
The Parish Council won the EALC/Vaughton Council of the Year award.
The Parish Council comprises of 7 members.
The Council has a part-time Clerk.
Full Council meetings are held at Messing Village Hall every third Tuesday in the month but this may vary as notified on the notice boards.
