2012 Olympic Open Weekend

2012 Olympic Open Weekend Priory Park was the setting this year for Southend’s 2012 “Open Weekend” – a free event for all ages that was designed to be a part of the national Open Weekend celebrations of three years to go to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, supported by BP, the Premier Partner of the Cultural Olympiad.

Over 4,900 people visited the Southend 2012 Open Weekend and many took up the chance to have a go at things like Fencing that they’d never tried before - or to simply relax and enjoy the entertainment and sunshine in the lovely surroundings of the park.
