CINEMA RETURNS TO SIBLE HEDINGHAM AFTER 53 YEARS

Map to venue at The Hedingham Village Club, Sible Hedingham

Plaza Cinema Sible Hedingham

The Plaza Cinema in Swan Street opened in the early days of the “talkies” and the first film shown there on the 29 August 1929 was Paramount’s “Speedy” (1928) featuring Harold Lloyd in the last silent film he made. The Plaza closed in 1959 and since then Sible Hedingham residents have not had the opportunity to “go to the pictures” in their own village. The nearest commercial cinemas today are at Braintree Freeport and Haverhill.

However, villagers and residents of the surrounding area are once again able to enjoy a night out at the cinema thanks to the newly created Hedingham Film Club Community Cinema. The aim of the new film club is to show top films locally so that people don't have to travel miles to see good films, which don't stay in the multiplexes very long - and all for less than the high street cinemas charge.  Tickets on the door are just £5.

Films are now being shown on the HFC's big screen at least once a month at the Hedingham Village Club, Cross Path (off Station Road), Sible Hedingham

Tickets can be purchased on the door at just £5.00 and in addition to the movie there is an added bonus short film not available anywhere else.

DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY A REGULAR NIGHT OUT WITHOUT SPENDING POUNDS ON EXPENSIVE PETROL!!!

To make this a unique village cinema experience, HFC will also include occasional speakers, quizzes, hand-outs and take-away material for children.
