Stisted Parish Council – Action Plan 2016/2017
Stisted Parish Council are keen to receive ideas and suggestions to improve and maintain our village. The list below is not exclusive as needs arise throughout the year, but is an overview of our action plan as at August 2016.
Actions for 2016/17 financial year:
- Superfast broadband – continued progression of provision of superfast broadband in Stisted in collaboration with superfastessex.org.
- Traffic calming/accident blackspots – continued monitoring and reporting to Essex Highways.
- Starting a Neighbourhood and/or Parish Plan.
- Applications for grant funding for Community Defibrillator.
- Grant funding for Playing Field.
- Youth Club start up.
- Application for the Foundation Level Council Award Scheme.
- Install a table tennis table on Playing Field.
Ongoing Actions:
- Litter picking – 2 per annum.
- Hire of Refuse Amenity Vehicle for community use twice per annum.
- Representation at County and District meetings including Braintree Association of Local Councils where appropriate.
- Highways management (potholes etc) in collaboration with Essex County Council.
- Planning Application consultations.
- Regular update of communications via website, noticeboards and Parish Magazine and quarterly newsletter.
- Training – For Clerk and Councillors.
- Control and Management of Parish Finances.

- Investigation of producing a Neighbourhood Plan.
- Applications for grant funding for Pavillion for the Playing field and fencing around the new play equipment.
- Installation of a new dog waste bin near the allotments.
- Application for the Foundation Level Council Award Scheme.
- Neighbourhood Watch – revival.
