There is an Annual Parish Meeting, traditionally held in May prior to the Annual Parish Council Meeting, when electors of the Parish and other members of the public are encouraged to attend,  to raise and discuss any issue that they consider affects the Parish.

The Chairman of the Parish Council presides. Representatives form all groups that have been busy on the Parish's behalf during the previous twelve months present report on significant activities. Representatives from the following groups will be attending:

  • The Smythe Hall Management Committee and the Fund-Raising Group
  • The Parochial Church Council of St. Mary & St. Margaret
  • Essex County Council
  • Maldon District Council
  • Stow Maries Parish Council
