Last night we held the 125th Tillingham Annual Parish Meeting.

We always try to make this annual meeting interesting for those attending and having listened to community concerns we arranged for a demonstration on how to use a defibrillator.

There was a slight change to the planned demonstration. Quick work behind the scenes late in the afternoon secured the attendance of our local Community First Responder Lauren Webber and her Co Ordinator John Cleary.

At 8.45pm they joined our meeting. John explained the Community First Responders role in the area and with Lauren gave a demonstration on CPR and the use of a defibrillator. The public were encouraged to take part and have a go at giving CPR to the dummy.

John and Lauren are dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic and caring Community First Responders.

They are volunteers helping to save lives in the community. They must raise funds to buy all their equipment, uniforms etc. Please help them to help you by donating to their collection boxes in the Fox & Hounds and Cap & Feathers pubs or contact John Cleary email:

A quick collection from the public at the meeting last night enabled the Community Frist Responders to boost their funds with a donation of £55.35. John & Lauren appreciated this kind gesture.

Thank you to everyone who attended and took part in our meeting. A Great Success!

Our photos have captured Chairman Cllr Robert Harvey getting ready and working hard to carry out CPR with Community First Responders Lauren Webber and John Cleary.
