Graham Coleman

ARTISTS PROFILE ----- GRAHAM COLEMAN.

My subjects are the mountains of Scotland, Wales, and the English Lake District. I also paint the East Anglian countryside along with the coasts of Norfolk and Suffolk, I include old buildings, mills, rivers anything that catches my eye and get pleasure from drawing. I try to capture the light and shadow at the time I am painting with the challenge of doing as much on site as I can.  My present challenge is portraiture, both people and dogs and cats. I use mainly oils & watercolour, the last often finished with pastel to accent textures.  I carry a sketchbook for black ink drafts to which I add colour later.

I work with Graystoke Artists at Wandlebury Country Park every two weeks and would welcome new members from beginners to those more able.

I exhibit locally, at Impington Village College, Strethall Art Fair, and have a one man show at Wandlebury every year 2011-04-15 will be my 10th consecutive year.

I have also exhibited at Anglesey Abbey (N.T.), Michealhouse Café, Burwash Manor, Quendon Gallery, and Janes Frames.

I have exhibited at Newmarket, with SEA Watercolourists and the Queens Head - Littlebury and Saffron Walden town hall with Saffron Walden Art Society.  I am a member of Cambridge District Art Circle, and presently have contributed some 15 works to NHS art scheme, to hang in Clinics and Hospitals in the Fens. Mark Elliot Furniture in Shelford kindly hang my work, and Whittlesford Church Art Exhibition and SWAS Bandstand summer exhibition days.
