Minutes of the MEETING of the BIRDBROOK PARISH COUNCIL which was  held on Tuesday,  24th January 2006,  in the  Community House, Birdbrook at 7.30pm

05.50   APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

05.51   DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST 

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

05.52   CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES 

        The Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on 1st November 2005 had been circulated 2 amendments were made after which they were declared a true record of the meeting and were signed by the Chairman.

 

05.53   REPORT OF THE CLERK

Members RECEIVED the oral report of the Clerk on the following matters

 

Village Pond – This matter would be placed on the Agenda for the Annual Parish Assembly when parishioners would be asked to consider options. The Clerk would also contact the Environment Agency to see if they could help

ECC Community Initiatives – A number of proposals had been received from various play equipment companies, the Clerk would submit an application based on these.

Cluster Meeting – Minutes were tabled and the Chairman confirmed that he was happy  for Birdbrook to host the October Cluster meeting.

Parish Rangers – Concern was still being expressed by the Chairman at the work load and time constraints.

Confirmation of Dates for Forthcoming Meetings of Parish Council – These had been circulated one amendment was made which meant that the Annual parish Assembly would be held on the 21st March.

Highway Signage – Cllr D Hoye advised of the changes to signage at Baythorne Bridge.

 

5.54     FINANCIAL MATTERS

 

a)  It was resolved to accept the Status of Accounts & List of Cheques which were tabled.


 

 

5.55          REPORTS

 

Members RECEIVED brief reports on the following matters:

 

a)      Essex Police – No Report

b)      Parish Evening at Braintree District Council – members noted the report from the Chairman

 

 

5.56      COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE

Members NOTED  an amendment to a planning application from 2003.

5.60     OTHER URGENT BUSINESS

 

Members NOTED the following matters a) & b) which were raised by Cllr Mrs H Hodge and c) by Cllr D Hoye

 

a)      A parishioner had requested Stop Signs by the Taste of China restaurant on the junction of the A1017 & the B1054 – Clerk will advise ECC Highways

b)      Play Area at rear of the Community House – Was there a Right of Way over the play area field – The Clerk would contact Steve Filbey and enquire.

c)      The Bus Stop at Baythorne End outside Cllr Hoye’s house was in need of repair. It was agreed that action to undertake remedial works would be carried out.
