Hadstock Village Fête
|
Hadstock Fete - Saturday 14th June 2008The 2008 Fete was a resounding success, thanks to all the villagers who put in so much hard work and enthusiasm. The sun shone brightly all afternoon and hundreds of people from the local area and further afield came along to enjoy a traditional village fete. The Hadstock Silver Band entertained us in the garden of Hadstock Hall, there were fabulous cakes and teas in the village hall, bargains to be found on the bric a brac, toys, plants and books stalls and plenty of fun for old and young alike. There were archery, golf, football and rugby games, tombolas and lucky dips, mini olympics and the annual tug-of-war competition. An auction of "money can't buy" items raised an amazing £1500 and the whole fete raised in excess of £6000. This will be split between the village hall and St Botolph's Church. A selection of photos from the fete can be seen by clicking here. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to make such a great day, and particularly to the tireless efforts of the committee.
