You should be aware that Maldon D.C. wish to increase the amount of houses built in their area. This will impact on the volume of traffic using Maldon Rd. This link to their website gives more information.

Note that there are developments proposed for our village. The Neighbourhood Planning Executive has been formed to try and shape these to the needs of the village. Your views are most welcome. See the links to the left of this page (The Neighbourhood Development Plan) for more information.

There will be new refuse collection dates starting from 2nd Feb. Make sure your bins are out before 07:00  to ensure they will be collected. This FAQ explains more

Mi community offers grants to local organisations. Closing date is 31st Oct so you will need to hurry if you have a good enough case to apply for grants of between £1k and £15k

BDC have put out a communique explaining why the previous LDF plan was cancelled. It makes for interested reading and explains the pressure that our village is under to provide land for development. Click HERE for more details

The current LDF plan has been cancelled as the government is wanting district councils to come up with land for MORE houses. See HERE for further information

The election will take place between 07:00 to 22:00 Thurs 24th July at the Village Hall. All residents should receive a Poll Card through the post. Please use your vote in this democratic process.

Parish Clerk's April update

Traffic survey. This is the document created by the Essex Highways that was presented at the recent LDP/LDF extraordinary meetings. Note the alarming conclusions in section 3 re the B1019 Maldon Rd intersection at the Street!

Superfast broadband. Register your interest in getting faster broadband speeds in the village. 

Unfortunately, the Church Hall could not handle all the people who wanted to attend the extraordinary meeting held 26th Feb (see below). There will be another presentation showing the impact of the Hat Pev and Maldon developments, at the Annual Parish Meeting held 20:00 19th March in the Church Hall. All are welcome.

The Big Allotment competition. Closing date is 12 p.m. 13th March.

Hatfield Peverel LDF. This provides a link to the H.P. Development Plan on B.D.C's website. Note that the public consultation period will commence on 17th February and end 28th March. Manned public exhibitions are going to be held 11th and 13th March at Witham Public Hall between 2.30pm and 7.30pm, and unmanned at Witham Public Library between 14th February and 10th March. Also note that there will be an extraordinary meeting run by the P.C. to which members of the public are invited. This will be held 20:00 at the Church Hall 26th Feb. Each household in Hat Pev and Nounsley should now have received a flyer through their door giving more information about this. Please see the parish noticeboards if you haven't seen one.   

Maldon LDP. Maldon District Council (MDC) are proposing to build in excess of 3500 houses and businesses in their area in their future Local Development Plans. Traffic analysis by Essex County Council Highways Dept has indicated that there will be considerable increases in traffic flows along the B1019 (Maldon Road) and concerns at the junction of Maldon Road and The Street. Potential congestion impacts at Hatfield Peverel railway station have also been identified. Please register your concerns via the response form (see their website). Closing date for this is 12th March 2014. Note that this, and the Hatfield Peverel LDF, will be covered by our extraordinary meeting 26th Feb (see above)
