Stisted Flower Festival

The Jubilee Flower Festival is to be held in Stisted Church over the 4 days from Saturday 2nd June to include Tuesday 5th June 2012.

Our Church will at this time will be celebrating, “Trinity”, and that is the celebration of Family.  So what a good time to Celebrate the 60 Years Queen Elizabeth has been like the head of our huge family. Her time spent serving us all, has at times I am sure been at the expense of her own close family unit. Her commitment and dedication to serve us all has been unconditional without doubt.

We have chosen things the Queen has been interested in herself, and for her family’s enjoyment during the past 60 years.   We have just a few of her lifetime pleasures and involvements recognised within our display, which we have based our “Celebration Flower Festival 2012” on.     Stisted sees the importance of the Diamond Jubilee of our Queen, who is the head of our Church and our Nation.

Some of the flower arrangements will be worked on by the ladies of Stisted Church who do such a good job all year round.   Of course, with doing a flower festival it will require more of us to help with the huge workload and time required, including the upkeep over the 4 days.

Tea, Coffee and homemade cakes, of course, will be available for sale in the Church, as will memorabilia items.  Anyone who would like to offer to join in and help even for a few hours will be very welcome and appreciated.   You are requested to contact Pat Bash (Home: 01376 325524,Mobile: 07900 253292 or email: pbash57@hotmail.co.uk) if you think you would like to help.

There will be some people in the village that may like to contribute to the flowers. Donate flowers or just one flower would be fine, or even a plant.  So these can be added into the displays we ask you to attach a post card size label, with your name clearly written on it in bold print, so your contribution can be shown and your name added to the records.  This donated flower / flowers or plant can be from anyone any age, it will be most welcome, but must be delivered before 3pm to the Church on Friday 1st June.  The Church will be open for visitors from Saturday 2nd to include Tuesday 5th June 2012.

We have, we hope, captured the parts of the Queen’s life we all know most about. We have tried to work on things we can enjoy about her.
