St Georges Repeat Old Mistakes

St Georges Repeat Old Mistakes. – They Learn Nothing from History

20 Years after Basildon Council scrapped their last remaining unwanted and unloved communal heating systems, St Georges Community Housing are determined to repeat the mistakes of the past and force unworkable and overly-expensive communal heating systems on residents across the town. No doubt they will use the ‘modern technology’ argument to try and trick us that modern technology makes communal heating an attractive option in 2010. The truth is, technology hasn’t changed at all. St Georges are just playing the same old game, less work for them, more expense for us.

25 years ago Basildon Council had 7 unwanted and unloved communal heating systems spread across the town. The systems had proven themselves to be unreliable, expensive and hated by the residents. Enough was enough, the Council admitted defeat and as quickly as possible the systems were unceremoniously stripped out and condemned   to the bin marked, ‘failures’.   And so ended the unhappy experiment in communal heating that failed everyone involved. Basildon Council vowed never again to waste time and money on similar systems. Until 25 years later… when along come St Georges Community Housing ready and willing to make the same mistakes that residents learned years before.
