Precept/Council Tax

Parish councils raise some of their revenue through the "Precept" which is included in the council tax demand, along with charges from the County Council, District Council, Police and Fire authorities.

A precept is a peremptory order to the billing authority to pay a named sum to the parish council.

(In our case, Basildon District Council, who pay the money in two installments)

The amount you pay is shown under Noak Bridge Parish Council on the annual Council Tax Demand.
