Brentwood "C" were the home side against Mountnessing "D" and despite Chris Hills, Graham Mann and Frank Porter trying their best they could only muster three points against Bruno Handel, Len Jupe and Suzanne Walker with Walker the unlucky player on the night as she failed to register any points for her team which therefore saw a seven point haul for Handel and Jupe. In their next fixture Mountnessing "D" introduced John Hickey for a rare outing against Buttsbury "D" and he duly obliged with an excellent maximum as did Bruno Handel. Hickey's win over John Newman saw him recover from a 2 - 1 deficit in ends to collect the final two from deuce 11/6, 6/11, 7/11, 12/10, 12/10 - Alan Bacon and Bill Nutbrown were Buttsbury's remaining players and were pointless in a 9 - 1 defeat for Buttsbury "D"
