We have three sections; Beavers (6-8) Cubs (8-10) and Scouts (10-14). We provide fun and life long experiences for our your people in our community. Ardleigh & District Horticultural Society, founded in 1893, aims to promote an interest in all aspects of horticulture. Evening meetings are held October to May (but not January). The Annual show in mid-August is an open show and always receives lots of positive comments regarding the quality and quantity of the entries. It is a friendly organisation which welcomes everyone.
Armed Forces Day Southend - Party in the Town, is a fixed annual JUNE military event, held in SOUTHEND-on-SEA to celebrate our Armed Forces. A not-for-profit voluntary organisation, soon to become a registered Trust, has been created by an AF Veteran in conjunction with Southend Borough Council, local business and designated military charities.

The Baddow and Galleywood U3A is the local section of the UK-wide U3A - the University of the Third Age. This is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
Barnston Village Hall is the community centre for Barnston Essex and surrounding area. We are run as a charity hall providing a space for community groups and others to socialize and get together. We have many groups who use the hall regularly and welcome new members.
There are two strands to the Basildon Family project; the ‘Highcliffe First Contact’ a simple checklist which offers a single point of access to a range of public services and the second is a neighbourhood agreement which is a ‘deal’ between residents and public bodies whereby each party makes commitments as to how they will help improve the area.

Bulmer is situated in North Essex close to the Suffolk border and the market town of Sudbury.
In 2011 unused land became available for purchase in the center of the village of Bures Hamlet. Through public donations enough funds were found to buy the land and to ensure it remained as a greensite in perpetuity. The Bures Common will be used as a facility for the whole village including fishing rights for village children.
