Rural Broadband

The Parish Council is conducting a Broadband survey.

The Parish Council is aware that there are a number of residents in East Mersea that regularly use the internet for either work or private use. As a Council our roles are to promote business in East Mersea and provide services to our residents, and so we are sending this letter to all residents to ascertain if as a Parish Council we should be looking at the viability of a collective scheme to improve broadband cover in East Mersea, probably through a wireless system.

If broadband is important to you please could you email the Parish Clerk, Vanessa Capon-Elliott at eastmerseaparish@yahoo.co.uk or write c/o 19a Reymead Close, West Mersea, Colchester CO5 8DJ by Friday 4th January 2013. Please could you include in your letter;

  • Your address
  • Whether you need broadband for business use, private, or both
  • Present broadband speed
  • Required broadband speed
  • Any suggestions; e.g. type of service, preferred supplier
