Precept 2009/2010

 The Precept is the amount of money the Town Council asks the District Council to collect from Council Tax payers to pay for the operation of the Town Council for the forthcoming year.  For 2009/2010 the Precept is £382,957.  This equates to a Band "D" Council Tax of approximately £46.55 for the year.  This represents a decrease of 11.26% on the previous year.  The reduction has been achieved, firstly, because a number of "one-off" projects have been carried out during the previous year and will not be repeated and, secondly, a number of minor reductions have been made and some projects extended leading, cumulatively, to a substantial decrease in Precept.
