Walton Market Saved

Walton Market Saved

Walton's popular market was due to close permanently at the end of September 2007.  Town Councillors were determined to retain the market which was so important to the life of the town.  Rapid negotiations took place  and with goodwill from Town and Country Markets and Tendring District Council, an underlease of the market was transferred to the Town Council on 23 November.  The Town Council then negotiated short leases with Tendring District Council until April 2012 when a five year lease was agreed securing the Markets future.

The Town Council of Frinton & Walton operate Walton Market every Thursday throughout the year, and every Monday during the summer.
