Ardleigh Village Design Statement

Ardleigh Parish Council has produced a Village Design Statement (VDS) as an advisory document that provides an assessment of village character and its surroundings, its qualities and distinctiveness and sets out design advice to help guide new development to make sure it fits in with its local context.

The VDS has been produced with the help and support of the local community

The VDS is used to influence and improve the quality of development that takes place in your area, so that it is harmonious with its setting and makes a positive contribution to the local environment.

The VDS has been prepared in accordance with planning policy and in consultation with Tendring District Council (TDC) and has now been adopted by TDC as supplementary planning guidance. The VDS may now be taken into account in the determination of planning applications and help guide members of the community and others when carrying out physical change in the local community.

Unfortunately the document is too large to upload onto the Ardleigh Parish Council website but an electronic or paper copy may be obtained from the Parish Clerk, mailto:ardlighpc@gmail.com, for a fee of £5.00.

The document can be viewed on the TDC website, http://www.tendringdc.gov.uk/sites/default/files/documents/planning/planning%20policy/Final%20Ardleigh%20VDS.pdf
