Provide information and contact details to prospective volunteers on a wide range of voluntary opportunities
Offer support to those who need it e.g. people with mental ill-health or learning disabilities
Co-ordinate one-off projects for short term volunteering
Marks Tey Parish Council includes of the villages of Marks Tey and Little Tey. Both are situated approximately six miles west of Colchester. The Council provides recreation facilities, including a children's playground, skateboard park, basketball court, football pitches and the Parish Hall complex. The Parish Hall is available for hire.
Our centres of population are Stanford Rivers and Toot Hill, all within a very rural part of Essex. The Council meets every two months at the Toot Hill village Hall, normally at 1950 on the 2nd Thursday of "odd" months. All are welcome.
The Council has responsibility for many physical assets including the Recreation Ground and Pavilion, the Windmill, allotments, Park Street Car Park, together with many street furniture items and open spaces.It employs a clerk and a caretaker. It has 9 members who are elected to serve a term of 4 years. The next elections will take place in May 2011.
