The Chelmsford German Circle has been in existence since September 1990. It meets on the first floor of the Moulsham Mill, Parkway Chelmsford at 8:00 p.m. on the third Thursday in the month. Meetings are mostly conducted in the German language. They're informal and include films, guest speakers, quizzes and other social events.

Historic Coggeshall, with a population approaching 5,000 is situated in North Essex on the old Roman military road between Colchester and St. Albans.
