The Great Maplestead Village Design Statement Committee is committed to producing the Great Maplestead Village Design Statement in accordance with, and reflecting the views of, the Parishioners of Great Maplestead.

Harmonie is Rayleigh based windband which performs around ten concerts per years, many in aid of local charities. We have a wide repertoire with something to suit most tastes. If you play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument why not join us! We rehearse on a Wednesday night and there are no auditions.

Hatfield Peverel Parish Council covers the villages of Hatfield Peverel and Nounsley.
The society promotes gardening, and various other handicrafts in the villages of Hatfield Peverel And Ulting. We organise Two village shows each year and a plant sale in the spring. In addition speaker evenings are held and garden visits arranged. These events are aimed at the local village area but all comers are welcome to participate.

Offering practical help, support and guidance, they work with those who have lived in the hearing world and now find themselves unable to hear as effectively. HHE’s area of operation is Mid-Essex, covering Chelmsford, Maldon, & Braintree. Clients living outside this area are welcome to visit the Resource Centre in Chelmsford.

Heybridge Basin Regatta has been running for over 150 years and we run sailing events on the Saturday, with stalls and well wanting on Sunday. With activities on-shore and off, for all the family.
An annual event, in conjunction with the village fete, and being organised to raise funds to help maintain and repair our 12th century village church. The race will include a fun run and is open to all from the village and beyond.

Highwood Parish Council serves the Parishioners of Highwood.
We are a friendly and welcoming carpet bowls club who meet every Thursday at the Highwoods Sports Centre. Although we feature strongly in the local winter and summer leagues we also offer a well attended club night with six carpets in use and arrange a number of club competitions and fun days throughout the year.
The Hockley and District Horticultural Society are a friendly community group. We run a trading hut at the rear of Hawkwell Village Hall. Trading Hut Opening Times: Sundays. 10.00 a.m.-12.00 noon February - October Spring and Autumn shows held at Hawkwell Parish Hall - open to everyone. New members always welcome!
A friendly community parent and toddler group, held at the Old Firestation, Hockley, on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, 09.30 - 11.30am. A great opportunity to meet new people and for children to socialise and have fun with other children.
