Rivenhall Parish Council serves a mostly rural area which includes over 550 houses, and several farms and businesses. The Council meets every month and welcomes local residents to take part. As well as commenting on planning applications, public consultations and many other issues, Rivenhall Parish Council organises grass cutting, litter picking and provides seats, bins and landscape planting.
Roydon Parish Council helps administer the Roydon village, Dobbs Weir and Bumbles Green.

Our centres of population are Stanford Rivers and Toot Hill, all within a very rural part of Essex. The Council meets every two months at the Toot Hill village Hall, normally at 1950 on the 2nd Thursday of "odd" months. All are welcome.

The Council has responsibility for many physical assets including the Recreation Ground and Pavilion, the Windmill, allotments, Park Street Car Park, together with many street furniture items and open spaces.It employs a clerk and a caretaker. It has 9 members who are elected to serve a term of 4 years. The next elections will take place in May 2011.
