Great Bromley village has 23 public rights of way in the form of footpaths, bridleways and byways.  These are listed here and a map showing their location will be published on this website in due course.  Meanwhile go to the Ordnance Survey Get-a-Map web page and type in 'Great Bromley' (rights of way are shown as red dashed lines on the 1:50,000 maps and green dashes on maps at the 1:25,000 scale).  Alternatively please refer to OS Explorer Map 184.

Essex County Council and local landowners are responsible for maintaining the rights of way and keeping them free from obstructions.  However a working group of local volunteers also helps to ensure that footpaths remain passable throughout the year.

The village has a Footpath Warden who monitors the rights of way and reports any problems to the County Council or landowners for action.  Each year the Footpath Warden and working group co-ordinator survey and report on the state of the village's rights of way.

The parish is a member of Essex County Council's Parish Paths Partnership scheme.

Comments, suggestions or reports on our rights of way can be emailed to the Footpath Warden.

Essex County Council has developed an interactive map of Public Rights of Way for the Essex Highways website here.
